Ello, I'm Piper Thibodeau
I suck at these, ughhhh. Anyways, hi. I'm a creature artist. I like painting concept art around the subject and wish to work as a concept artist when I'm through with school.
At the moment, I'm attending my third and final year of Dawson College for 3D Animation. Because of the heavy workload, I can't really reply back to a lot of comments and stuff --but I certainly read them all
Can I use your art for *insert blank*
Okay big one here. I’m going to risk sounding like a jerk, but for the most part, no. If you want to one of my works as an icon or a Facebook/Tumblr/Youtube banner, that’s about as far as I’ll permit, BUT you need to remember three things
a) You’re not permitted to use any artwork that was commissioned off of me, only the original commissioner has the rights to using that piece freely. (I made it very clear if an artwork was commissioned or not)
b) You CANNOT edit the original work. With the exception of cropping for icon usage.
c) And if you do use it as anything more than an icon, I would appreciate a link back.
What programs/tools do you use?
I’m primarily a digital painter, though I use traditional mediums from time to time, such as watercolors and oils. As for tools and software, I have a small Intuos5 and use the following programs:
For painting: Photoshop CS5.
For lineart: Paint Tool SAI
For animation: Maya, Flash, Premiere
For 3D Modelling: Zbrush, 3DS Max
* The custom non-integrated PS brushes I use are from:
www.shaddyconceptart.com/downl… and zedig.deviantart.com/art/Brush…
Do you take commissions?
Not for small scale/ personal type stuff at the moment. But I'm interested in projects like posters etc,
Please contact me at email@example.com
Do you take requests?
Nuuuu, free art screws up the industry.
Do you do trades?
Only with friends.
Do you go to art school? Where?
I go to school for 3D Animation and CGI at Dawson College
Hey guys, so I got this test sticker I made of one of my Pokemon re-designs. I’m using RedBubble.
I didn’t want to make these available without testing them first, as I’m not used to printing my own artwork. But I’d say that the colors are pretty spot on (compared to the preview image I get)
Only problem is the contours, if you look really closely they’re a bit jagged —can’t have any of that if I sell it. I’m almost 100 percent sure it’s a matter of using the pen tool to make mechanical lines around them as opposed to manually cropping, that means I can’t really make all of them instantly available and I’ll need to release them one by one.
So if you guys are interested, as a few people were, I’ll be making a post when the starters are available.
