I really wish that mite can be that cute, so I don't have to bugspray the bedsheet and sofa...

I'd say you did a great job on the details on the mite itself. Everything seems to be in place, aside from a few whiskers or whatever they are. You emulated the microscopic clay look pretty damned well, in my opinion. I can't really say much else, but I do love how much variety you offer. You seem to do almost everything, ranging from totally fictional creatures and concepts, to a damned dust mite. Keep it up~

(It's called microscopic clay, is it? Interesting.)

Thank you so much :> I appreciate the feedback. I was a tad hesitant to try something like this, but I noticed that Metroid Prime seems to be influenced by this sort of photography, albeit stylized. I'd love to try something similar with creature designs.

I'm not exactly sure why you would be hesitant towards this kind of thing, as you seem to have succeeded in replicating the general "Under the microscope" look. I'm also rather happy to see Metroid Prime being mentioned, as it is probably my favorite game ever created, and I can see what you're talking about, although all I can recall is the awesome background stuff that was floating around in the title screen.
If there were other things you were referring to, I wouldn't know. Either way, I'm always glad to give feedback when possible. I don't always do it, though, as I tend to struggle with putting together my thoughts and typing them out. I'm always afraid that I will miss some sort of important detail and all of that stuff, or that I may end up rambling on and lose track of what I was originally trying to say.
Also microscopic clay was all I could think of that would make sense to me :V

Metroid Prime is one of my favorite games as well, but I haven't played it in full since I was 11, the rest is kinda fuzzy. Like you said, the intro screen had all the cool microscopy things, but now that I checked out the play-through --there's not as much of it in it as I re-called. I guess doing something like that was way above the graphical capabilities of the Game Cube...but DAMN, if they make another Metroid game I hope they go that route. Would be beyond awesome.

I was a bit hesitant to try it out cause it looked very difficult to replicate, heh. The lighting is weeeeird. But I hope I can keep the dailies fresh, I've noticed that my idea-pool as of late has been...meh, so I'm hoping that studying new stuff like this will make a difference.

And again, thanks for the feedback --I totally understand how difficult it is to type them out. I feel rather bad, there's been times where I could barely ever reply cause of school. I noticed you made a lengthy comment on an old Spyro piece, sorry for not getting back on that, thank you for it :)

And microscopic clay makese sense x]

I absolutely adore the art direction for Metroid Prime, all the way through to the 3rd game. There are so many times where I went out to the most unimportant spots, and crevices and whatnot, and noticed subtle little details, or little bits of glowing/moving machinery that served no other purpose than to look nice. The games were loaded with that stuff. Almost everything was so detailed, and had little fine touches that made me all happy. I feel kind of bad how most of the environments in games are overlooked. I do it all of the time, but when I take a minute, and look around and take in my surroundings, I'm usually surprised at some smaller details that may have been included. I'm a sucker for small little details.

Trying out new and different things is how artists grow and improve. Your efforts to mix it up every now and again are definitely appreciated. Sure, I don't really care for dust mites at all, but what did matter in this one was that you set out to replicate the general look of one, and I'd say you succeeded. To me, it shows that you can work with heavy stylization, but also kick up the realism when you feel that it's necessary. It gives you more to work from~
It's also fine if you can't always reply to everything. I understand that school, and drawing as much as you do can be very demanding for the most part. Replying to every single comment that you get, combined with how frequently you upload things, seems like it would be rather difficult. I couldn't help but make as long of a comment as I did on the older Spyro image that you made. It's definitely my favorite thing in your gallery. Hell, I think it was the first thing of yours that I saw, thanks to a friend of mine showing it to me. It was a really neat rendition of his original incarnation. The newer stuff just doesn't work for me. Bleck.

It was refreshing to type all this stuff out. I rarely comment on stuff, which makes me feel bad, since there are a lot of things that people make that I love, but never seem to comment on. There are many times where I can hardly think of what to say, and I'm not happy with just saying "This looks nice" and such. Although I am sometimes hesitant to detail everything that I like about a specific image, because I am afraid of eating the page. Any way, you're always welcome! It's always nice to see something from you, even if I don't always enjoy it's origins, or have no idea what it is. Keep up the good work, Cryptid~

In my opinion, the game's art direction is probably one of Nintendo's best, alongside Zelda. I think that the series has a lovely balance --the graphics are superb for a GC game, but they didn't forgo the gameplay in favor of the over-all look. It's a shame to see fantastic art direction in games when the game itself is pretty much unplayable.

Or vice versa. Poor art direction can really tear down the atmosphere of a solid game. :/

And again :) thank you. Your comment really makes me want to try and experiment with new subjects. I can think of quite a few, it's gunna be fun to experiment!
