There's something deeply unsettling about his face. Or that of any human that I've tried to render as I do with creatures. Though I'm not trying to go for realism with this, I think that my lack of understanding and practice with the human form is affecting my ability to create genuine looking human characters. Looks like something a 14 year old would draw.
New motif: study the living crap out of the human figure from the inside out. Skeleton and all.
Re-doing dailies AGAIN. I don't care. I will get this right if I want to succeed. This technically wasn't a daily, due to the tablet mess up it's been pretty much been left in limbo.
Also, I think I need to cut the Pokemon BS and make my own creatures; focusing more on concept art would definitely help. If anyone has any suggestions for what an aspiring concept artist should be focusing on painting-wise, I'd appreciate it.
For those of you who are interested in seeing the dailies, I'll be posting some in the scraps when it dosn't merit a full sumbission.
